European Parliament President and Nationalist MEP Roberta Metsola is the most trusted Maltese MEP among local voters, a MaltaToday survey found.
Her score of 22% put her in the lead with Labour MEP Alex Agius Saliba following just five points behind.
Yet, it was found that 24.9% of the electorate trusts none of the six Maltese Members of the European Parliament while 23% couldn’t decide.
Labour MEP Cyrus Engerer came out as least trusted with a score of just 0.7%, Josianne Cutajar followed with 2.4%, Alfred Sant with 4.4%, David Casa with 5.5%, Agius Saliba with 17.3%, and Metsola at 21.9%.

Metsola further leads Agius Saliba by eight points among female participants and by 11 points among 16 to 35-year-olds. On the other hand, the labour MEP is levelled with Metsola among male respondents and leads among over 65-year-olds.
Looking at it from a geographical standpoint, the survey revealed that Agius Saliba leads in the Southern Harbour (22%), Southeastern regions (34%), and Western region (33%).
Metsola leads in the Northern region (18%), North Harbour region (24%), and Gozo region (43%).
