‘She Paid A Hefty Price’: Robert Abela Debating Rosianne Cutajar’s Return To Labour Party

Prime Minister Robert Abela has stated Independent MP Rosianne Cutajar has paid a sufficient political price and would reconsider her rejoining to the Labour Party.

While speaking to reporters outside of Castille yesterday evening, Abela was asked several questions which led to inquiries about Rosianne’s possible return.

When asked if Cutajar should be given a second chance, similar to former MFSA chief Joseph Cuschieri, who has been appointed as Project Green CEO, the Prime Minister welcomed the question and responded, “No one should suffer perpetual punishment unless there are extreme circumstances”.

“She paid a price, she paid a hefty price which led to her resignation and another consequence was that she is no longer part of the Labour Party,” Abela added.

“Today I will comment how given the sanctions, the passage of time, her good behaviour and the fact that she has already paid the price for her actions, I will not exclude that Rosianne’s position is reconsidered,” the prime Minister revealed.

The Prime Minister was asked to elaborate on his statement and he reiterated how he does not believe that she should keep suffering perpetual punishment.

Earlier this week, Lovin Malta asked Rosianne whether she she has any concrete plans to return to the Labour Party however she did not reply to the question.
