Sports Council Chairman Strongly Insinuates PN Behind Caruana Galizia’s Murder
Malta Sports Council chairman and former Labour MP Luciano Busuttil has strongly insinuated a hidden hand within the Nationalist Party was behind the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
“Someone told me good chess players know that sometimes you need to sacrifice the queen in order to save the king,” he wrote on Facebook.
Busuttil’s suggestion was quickly condemned by PN executive candidate Kevin Wain and Swieqi deputy mayor Justin Fenech, the latter who said such comments strengthen his resolve to fight for a community-based style of politics.
Daphne Caruana Galizia was a strong critic of Luciano Busuttil and once accused him of creating a fake Facebook profile to chat up women online.
She said the profile was deleted as soon as she called him to ask whether it was him, an accusation he denied.
Earlier this year, Caruana Galizia accused both Busuttil and his wife of abusing Blue Badge parking privileges for people with disabilities – charges they both denied.
