Third Choice: Arnold Cassola Climbs The Polls In New MEP Survey

Independent MEP candidate Arnold Cassola has climbed the polls in a recent Times of Malta survey, securing the third choice of voters to win a seat at the European Parliament.

“This campaign represents the biggest party of them all. The people of Malta and Gozo. Which is why our message of hope for the future is resonating so deeply. Together we will build a modern society that rewards innovation, meritocracy and beauty above all else. Let’s write history TOGETHER. Vote Cassola. Issa Ċ-Ċans,” Cassola told Lovin Malta.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola remains at the top with one in every four voters (25.6%) listing her as their number one preference. Meanwhile, PL MEP Alex Agius Saliba follows her in second place with 21% of preferences.

Cassola, on the other hand, secured just under 6% of preferences, a big jump from his previous hovering at around 1%. While there’s a big gap between the frontrunners and Cassola, such numbers can see him snag a seat at the prestigious institution.

The poll further showed a dramatic drop in undecided voters from 41% in April to 25% today.

PN candidate Peter Agius and PL opponent Daniel Attard both experienced a slight rise in their numbers (3.5%), making them the next in line for the MEP title.

Labour’s Thomas Bajada also experienced a rise from under 1% in previous polls to 3%.
