With the political spotlight turning to Parliament tomorrow, Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg is promising a hard-hitting response to Budget 2026, and a clear message that the PN is ready to govern.

Speaking at a political event in Sliema on the eve of his official reply, Borg said the Opposition will lay out its full vision for Malta and show that the country “finally has an alternative.”

“Tomorrow I will be presenting our vision for this country,” Borg said.

“I will be speaking on behalf of those who are suffering, those who need help, and those who long to see new hope in this country, on behalf of those this Government has forgotten.”

Borg didn’t hold back, accusing the Labour government of abandoning people who actually need support, while insisting the PN is “ready to be an alternative government, whenever the election comes.”

The Opposition’s response is expected to focus heavily on:

  • Rising cost of living
  • Pressure on public services
  • Lack of long-term economic planning
  • Social inequality and vulnerable families
  • The need for “new hope” and “clean leadership”

With inflation, national services and Malta’s long-term direction set to dominate the Budget 2026 debate, all eyes will be on tomorrow’s speech, and how the government reacts.

What do you expect to be said tomorrow?
