Watch: MEP Alex Agius Saliba Opposes Renaming Road For Navalny Near Russian Embassy
Labour Party MEP Alex Agius Saliba expressed his opposition to the idea of renaming the street next to the Russian embassy after Alexei Navalny.
In response to a question by SideStreet, Agius Saliba argued the proposal by Beppe Fenech Adami was counterproductive.
“While I am not against naming a street in Malta after Alexei Navalny, situating such a street near the Russian Embassy could challenge our country’s diplomacy efforts,” the MEP stated.

“I believe this is not the appropriate method or message in response to what happened,” Agius Saliba added.
Additionally, the MEP mentioned this action would not positively affect the current geopolitical challenges the world is experiencing.
