PL MEP Candidate Miriam Dalli has put her faith in the Labour Party getting the fourth seat after the party stormed to yet another record victory over the Nationalist Party.

“We really proud with this result, it’s a show of trust from our citizens in our politics and what we have done in the European Parliament over the past few years,” Dalli told Lovin Malta.

Dalli, who has been the front runner in the polls from the get go, said that she would now be keeping her focus on the candidate’s race for an MEP seat.

“I don’t think it could be a 5-1,” Dalli conceded, ”it’s looking good for four seats to the Labour Party but we need to see how the votes are transferred.”

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat earlier announced that his party’s projections indicate a 45,000 voter gap between the two main parties.

While the margin may show that a 4-2 majority is the likely possibility, the PN managed to get the third seat when faced with a similar margin in 2014 through the transfer of votes.
