Watch: ‘They’re Trying To Shut Me Up’ – Peter Agius Makes Police Report After Finding Banners Removed

PN MEP candidate Peter Agius has filed a police report after discovering that someone was taking down his banners hung across Malta and Gozo.
“It’s embarrassing that there is someone who wants to shut me up,” Agius said in a video taken outside a police station.
On 1st May, Agius and his team hung several banners across the islands, this is a standard practice that he’s legally entitled to. However, four out of the five banners in Gozo were removed by an unknown perpetrator/s, while another two were taken down in Malta.
“There’s someone who thinks they are above the law. These actions are sharing a message of impunity, a message that people can do whatever they want.”
Agius explained that this is one of his only ways to deliver his message: “I don’t have PBS in my hands like the Labour Party does. I can’t just advertise as easily.”
“Someone wants to shut me up, the same way they tried to shut the mouth of Roberta Metsola,” he continued, referring to the Broadcasting Authority’s instruction for media houses to be “cautious” when reporting the European Parliament President during the MEP election campaign.
This isn’t the first time that Agius complained about his banners being taken down, while independent politician Arnold Cassola filed a similar report.
