Watch: ‘Women Are Not Objects’ – Sarah Bajada On Article Implying Her Looks ‘Help’ Alex Borg’s Political Career

Sarah Bajada has reacted to an article which seemed to imply that her looks help her partner, PN MP Alex Borg, with his political ambitions.
“When I came across an article implying that I somehow “help” Alex politically just by being a pretty decoration it didn’t sit right with me,” the TV presenter and vocal proponent of female empowerment wrote moments ago. “I am proud of the woman I am, the woman who works hard, who builds her own dreams even when life threw massive hurdles, the woman that helps others and supports other women, but ultimately the woman that supports her partner.”
The article in question, which was published this morning on Illum, spoke about Borg’s positioning as a prospective future leader of the Nationalist Party.
“Borg, with a smiling face, moderate dialogue, as a handsome man, with an attractive wife, while also being supported by a small and professional team, is aiming for the most crucial role in the PN,” it finished by saying.

In a Reel shared on her socials, Sarah went in on the article’s wording, saying people needed to “move past the idea that a woman’s value lies in how SHE LOOKS next to a man”.
“Let’s start recognising women for what they do and their story, not how they appear,” she continued, explaining how both her and Borg “come from strong work culture” and “play different roles in our day to day lives”.
“Whether Alex succeeds or doesn’t in politics is not something I will determine,” she continued. “And the same goes for my work. My success depends on how much I put in, not on being with Alex. I have my own identity, one that existed even before my relationship with Alex. He’s always supported me unconditionally in what I do. And I do the same for him.”
