Watch: Wrong Robert? Former One TV Host Clears Air On Abela-Aquilina ‘Vomiting’ Comment

Another day, another political controversy with both sides slinging mud and spin allegations at each other.

Late last night, PN’s NET News published a video which they claimed PL’s One had removed from its Facebook page because it showed one of its former hosts, Luke Dalli, saying he would “vomit” if Robert’s name was mentioned. And while PN pounced on the video, alleging Dalli was referring to Prime Minister Abela, the TV personality was quick to clap back at it all.

“Another year has gone by and NET remained the same,” Dalli wrote in a status resharing the video. “They always see how they’re going to try and put a wedge between the Labourite family. It’s a shame that I’m going to have to pop this bubble too.”

Dalli went on to say that the moment, which came during an exchange between him and the production team of the TV programme Grilling, happened when he was asked whether he was comfortable talking about the case of former prime minister Joseph Muscat, the police search in his home, and the connection to Robert Aquilina to the case.

“My answer was clear,” Dalli doubled down. “You’d better not mention Robert (Aquilina) because I’d vomit up everything I had in my stomach. That’s the scoop.”

Slamming PN as simply a “tabloid”, Dalli finished his retort by saying his relationship with Prime Minister Robert Abela is “excellent” and he will once more be “behind him so that the Labour Party achieves another record majority over the PN tabloid”.

Meanwhile, NET News has since updated its original post, questioning why, if Dalli really was talking about Robert Aquilina and not Robert Abela, the video was removed and he was censored from One’s Facebook page.

Who do you think Luke Dalli was actually talking about?
