‘Your Position Is Untenable’: Simon Busuttil Calls For The Prime Minister’s Resignation After Yorgen Fenech’s Arrest
Simon Busuttil, the former leader of the opposition, has strongly called for the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat following the arrest of Yorgen Fenech, the Maltese businessman suspected of masterminding the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
“Arrested: Yorgen Fenech owner of 17 Black, caught paying €5,000-a-day to the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff and his top Minister for the new power station. The Prime Minister’s position is untenable. He must resign and let take its course.”
PN MEP David Casa echoed his call.
The arrest of Yorgen Fenech may bring the two-year search for the killers of Daphne Caruana Galizia to an end.
The country woke to the shocking news that Fenech had been arrested at around 5 am this morning after he had tried to flee the country in his private yacht ‘Gio’ from Portomaso.
AFM officers intercepted his yacht and promptly brought him back to the island under arrest.
