A Maltese football fan’s dream came through after meeting several football legends at a hotel lobby in Qatar.
Andrew Zarb Cousin bumped into several football icons, including Gabriel Batistuta, Alessandro Del Piero, Christian Vieri, Lilian Thuram, Kaka, Ronaldo Nazário, Samuel Eto’o, Cafu, David Trezeguet, Roy Keane, John Terry, Edwin van der Sar, Iker Casillas, Ian Wright, Julio Cesar, Mario Materazzi, Jorge Valdano and Robbie Keane.

“What an experience yesterday. Being in the same hotel lobby as so many players I’ve grown up watching for so long was incredible,” Andrew stated on Facebook. “Seeing them pass by one after the other was unbelievable.”
“A lot of these players were my absolute heroes growing up and to be able to have 1-2 minute conversations with them, was something I’ll remember for a long time.”
The World Cup continues tomorrow, with Argentina and Croatia facing off for a place in the final, before Morocco and France battle it out on Wednesday. The losers will play each other in a third-place playoff on Saturday, with the winners rounding off proceedings in the final on Sunday.
