Gżira United Could Make History Tonight In Nail-Biting Europa Conference League Qualifier
Gżira United could make history tonight by becoming the first Maltese team to make it to the play-off stage of the Europa Conference League.
Gżira might not be the favourites to make it through tonight’s match against Austria club Wolfsberg. However, a major upset is on the cards after Gżira secured a 0-0 draw in Austria last week.
The match, which will be aired on TVM, will kick off at 6pm tonight. And Gżira will need to put in yet another impressive defensive display to make it through.
This year, Maltese teams have made the island proud in the Europa Conference League. Both Hibernians and Ħamrun Spartans have also made it to the third round of this major tournament.
Hibs will be playing at home on Thursday 11th August after recording a 1-1 draw in the first leg against RFS (Latvia) while Ħamrun will need to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Levski in Bulgaria.
