Last Minute Tickets For Malta-Spain Clash Are Going For Insanely High Prices
With only a few hours to go until Malta’s mouthwatering clash against Spain and all tickets sold out, fans desperate for a ticket now have to resort to the black market.
Posts on the official Facebook event for the match show that prices have shot up tremendously, with some selling them for eight times the value they had bought them at.
While tickets for the Millennium Stand were originally worth €15 and tickets for the North Stand and the South Stand were worth €10, people are now selling them for €60, €80 and even €120 apiece.
Here are some examples:
Tonight’s game could well prove to be the best attended football match in terms of Maltese fans since seating for 18,000 people was installed at the Ta’ Qali stadium in 2003. While games such as Malta vs England and Malta vs Italy were also sold out, a significant number of away fans had attended them, while only 450 Spaniards are expected to turn up tonight.
La Furia Roja boasts stars such as Sergio Ramos, David de Gea, Alvaro Morata and Rodrigo and are widely expected to see off Malta tonight, with odds for a Malta win standing at 120 to 1.
However, miracles are possible and Malta will no doubt be boosted by last weekend’s thrilling victory over the Faroe Islands. Fingers crossed…
