Malta is the third best diving destination in the world, rivalled only by the Maldives (1st) and Egypt (2nd), according to the Sport Diver Awards. This also means the country is the most popular diving destination in the Mediterranean.
Adding to our achievements, Malta-based instructor Alan Whitehead from Divewise Malta was also named Best PADI Instructor, while Maltaqua was named 2nd Best Dive Centre.
The awards are voted on by Sport Diver Magazine readers, and recognise the very best in the industry, from leading diving destinations to individual instructors to pioneering companies. A ceremony took place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
“We are delighted to be recognised as a leading dive destination year after year by Sport Diver readers. We have a thriving diving community who care for the underwater world, achieving awards like these are a reflection of the valuable relationships between the diving community. It motivates us to continuously work together to ensure Malta, Gozo and Comino attract visitors from around the world,” said MTA Manager Nicolas Sancho.
