Malta Rugby Team Dominates Croatia Over The Weekend
Malta’s national rugby team thrashed Croatia’s team in a home game that saw the Maltese players obtain an impressive 56 – 8 over their opponents.
This incredible performance means that Malta is now ranked as 39th in the world, after picking up six-tenths of a rating point due to their win over Croatia in Rugby Europe’s Conference 1 South.
They are now in top place of the Conference 1 South table.
The Maltese team was in full force this weekend, with key players like scrum-half Thomas Holloway, full-back James O’Brien and winger Christopher Dudman showing their A game on the pitch in front of a 3,000 strong crowd. The game was held at the Hibernians Ground in Paola.
This win comes after Malta’s away domination of Bosnia & Herzegovina a couple of weeks ago, winning 52 – 20.
With a string of wins under the Maltese team’s belt, Malta is now ranked well above some other well-performing teams, such as Colombia, Tunisia or Paraguay. Croatia fell three places to 57th as a result of this defeat.
