Malta Wrestling Team Bags Silver Medal At English Senior Championship

The Malta Wrestling Federation wrestling team came home with a silver medal after participating in the annual English Senior Championships in Windsor.
Competing in the 61kg category as opposed to the 57kg category he previously contested, Gary Giordmaina managed to secure the medal for the nation.
He beat contenders Arash Ali Akbari (London wrestling club), and Mubibullah Safi (City of Manchester club). Meanwhile, in the semi-finals, he beat Pravjeet Lahel (Derby Wrestling Club).
After a nail-biter of a final, Giordmaina succumbed to Haroon Yousufi (Prometheus Wrestling Club)
The Maltese team consisted of Gary Giordmaina at 61kg, Nico Zarb at 74kg, Cedric Vella at 97kg, and Roberto Buttigieg at 97kg, with Jesmond Giordmaina as the coach and Abraham Vassallo as the referee.
Giordmaina is on a roll after he had already bagged a gold medal last May at the Mehmet Malo International United World Wrestling Tournament in Albania.
