Malta’s Junior Badminton Stars Shine Bright At National Championships

The Junior National Championships 2025, powered by VICTOR and organised by Badminton Malta, brought some serious talent to the courts at Santa Lucija Hall from 7th–9th November .

Young players from U11 to U19 went head-to-head in both singles and doubles, showing off impressive skills, determination, and sportsmanship over three action-packed days.

The tournament didn’t disappoint when it came to excitement. The Boys’ Singles U11 final went all the way to three nail-biting games, with James Galea Boffa narrowly beating Ben Ciantar (30-29, 18-21, 29-30).

In the girls’ categories, Monique Monika Vella triumphed in the U15 singles, fighting past Julia Galea in another thrilling three-game showdown (16-21, 21-19, 21-9). Over in the U19 Girls’ Singles, Martina Clark claimed the title, defeating Jodie Ann Gafa’ Craus.

A spokesperson for Badminton Malta praised the event, saying:

“The high standard of play confirms the positive commitment from our junior athletes. The results show a great mix of talent across all junior categories, which is encouraging for the development pathway of Maltese badminton.”

With tight matches, multiple titles, and standout performances across all age groups, Malta’s junior badminton scene is clearly in very good hands.
