Maltese Fitness Model Places Fourth In World Championships Just Seven Weeks After Returning To Training
After only being given the go-ahead to return to training several weeks ago, Leanne Bartolo – a fitness model and personal trainer – has taken home 4th place for her bikini modelling at the World Fitness Federation Pro Championships 2019.
Leanne took to her Instagram page after the event to share her pride with her followers.
Writing to her friends and followers, Leanne explained that “hard work will go a long way”. Only seven weeks ago was she given the all-clear to return to her training regime, debating whether or not she was still in time to compete after injuring her back.
“Yet again I fought my insecurities and pushed harder that ever to try and obtain good results in a much shorter time,” she continued in her post, “I impressed myself with how committed and determined I can be.”
Leanne was proud to have overcome her own insecurities, too, thanking her fiancé for his support as well as her family and friends. Leanne also took the time to congratulate her fellow competitors at the World Championships, with a shoutout to overall first place winner Gwendolyn Von Haug.
Leanne had previously let her fans know she was due to compete, but highlighted the short amount of prep time she’d given herself – largely due to the recovery time of her injury.
But the two-time winner of a World Championship holder wasn’t going to let that stop her as she dominated the competition in Mexico and made her home country proud.
