Maltese Forward Maria Farrugia Signs With Bristol City Women FC
Maltese footballer Maria Farrugia is officially continuing her career in English football after signing with Bristol City Women FC.
The club announced the deal yesterday, confirming that the Gozitan-born forward has signed on until summer 2027.
“When I heard about the aims and setup of the club, I knew it was the right step,” Maria said in her first interview with the team.

Farrugia, who previously played with Sheffield United, shared her gratitude to the club and fans in an emotional farewell post just a few weeks ago.
“It’s been a real honour to wear the red and white and be part of this club. I’m proud to have represented Sheffield United and grateful for everything that came with it — the experiences, the challenges, and the people I’ve met along the way.”
Now, it’s time for a new chapter and Malta will be cheering her on every step of the way.
