Meet The Maltese Olympians For The Paris 2024 Olympics

With just three days left to the Paris 2024 Olympics, it is time to get to know who will be representing Malta in the Olympic Games.
 
Katryna Esposito, 23 years old, will be competing in Malta’s name in the -48kg Judo. Esposito won first place in the 19th Games of the Small States of Europe, in Malta last year and placed second in the Algiers African Open 2024. Esposito will be competing on Saturday 27th July.
 
Gianluca Chetcuti, 26 years old, will be competing in the Shooting Trap round. Chetcuti holds 142 current world records in double trap and has won two gold medals in double trap, in 2017 and 2019. Chetcuti will be representing Malta on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th July.
Beppe Grillo, 21 years old, will be competing in the Athletics round. Grillo is the five-time national champion in Athletics, having run 100 metres in 10.23 seconds last May in the Balkan Championships. Grillo will run on Saturday 3rd August.
 
Sasha Gatt, 19 years old, will be swimming in the Olympics. Sasha at 16 years old qualified for her First Olympics in Tokyo. She currently holds national records for 400 free, 800 free and 1500 free. Gatt achieved 4 medals at the Games of Small States. She is the highest ranked female swimmer in Malta. She will be swimming on Tuesday 30th July
 
Kyle Micallef will also be swimming, in a different distance, in the aquatic section of the Olympics. Micallef has many international achievements under his name, in Australia and the USA. He’s even achieved four National Collegiate Athletic Association Championship titles. Micallef won two gold medals for the 50m Freestyle and 4x100m Relay Freestyle respectively.
