Following the fight, he showed class and respect, thanking his opponent, the Sydney crowd, and everyone who supported (or doubted) him throughout fight week.

After his win, Micallef took to Instagram to share his thoughts about the fight.

“I was one of the biggest underdogs on the card, but I knew what the bookies didn’t. The trust and belief I have in myself and my team is unmatched. I just showed the world a slither of what I am capable of. See you all for the next dance!”

He also praised Jousset, calling him the perfect debut opponent, and embraced both the love and the hate from fans.

What’s next for Micallef? One thing’s for sure—he’s just getting started.
