Shooter Gianluca Chetcuti Beats National Record In Polish Double Trap Games

Gianluca Chetcuti is Malta’s Double Trap champion, after beating a national record at the international European Games 2023 Wroclaw Shoooting Centre.

He managed to hit 124/125 targets, securing him the top spot  in the qualifying stages with Nedim Tolga Tuncer of Turkey.

In the final stages he managed to hit 19/25 targets from a single shot, however was eliminated and finished in fifth place overall.

This comes just after striking high with a decent score of 122/125 target hits fifteen weeks ago at the ISSF World Cup in Doha, Qatar. Chetcuti has also struck gold twice in his career, scoring high points in the in Games of the Small States of Europe in 2017 and 2019.

Trap shooting is one of the variants of shotgun shooting at clay targets. It dates back to the 18th century, when real birds were used for shooting.
