FC Barcelona is stepping up its audiovisual ambitions with several leadership and structural changes at Barça Produccions, the club’s media subsidiary.

According to Spain’s official business register, Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Socios.com, has been appointed to the company’s board. He is joined by Marcel Enrich Planell, a lawyer and partner at the Pérez-Llorca firm, who previously held a similar role at Baker & McKenzie.

The club also changed the company’s statutes, updated its business purpose, and completed the absorption of Bridgeburg Invest, the former digital arm of the club. The company’s capital was increased by €2,619.

Dreyfus heads Socios.com, a fan engagement platform focused on NFTs and tokens, and is also CEO of Qamar Ventures, an investment firm based in Malta. Dreyfus also owns a majority stake in MeetInc’s parent company Lovin Malta.

His appointment signals a renewed focus on digital innovation within the club’s media strategy.

Several board members have now stepped down, including Ferran Olivé i Casanovas (who was vice-president), Sergi Ricart i Balsells, Antonio Cruz Llauna, Pere Lluís Mellado i Bailo, and Cristina Belloque i Acasuso, the last two having served as non-director secretaries. However, key figures like Manel del Río Saavedra (FC Barcelona’s Corporate Director), Sports Director General Rafa Yuste Abel, and President Joan Laporta remain in place.

The company’s updated purpose now includes the ownership, development, management and commercialisation of digital content, including all FC Barcelona-related content involving the metaverse and token-based business models. The company is no longer a sole proprietorship.

The absorption of Bridgeburg Invest was announced by Laporta earlier this year as part of a broader effort to consolidate Barça’s digital and media businesses under a single umbrella and facilitate more cross-cutting digital initiatives.

Barça Produccions was set up at the end of 2021 to manage all audiovisual content produced by Barça Studios. It began operations on 27th September 2021 and remains the club’s main vehicle for media content production and distribution.
