That’s How It’s Done: Maltese Special Olympians Absolutely Slay In Abu Dhabi, Winning 40 Medals

Malta’s 2019 Special Olympics delegation will return home proudly after nabbing 40 athletic medals in Abu Dhabi this past week.

Winning 12 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 15 bronze medals in a variety of sports, the Maltese athletes have shown the sheer level of their talent, even when competing on an international stage.

They took on 7,500 athletes from 190 different countries in nine different disciplines – and made quite the impression.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat as well as Michelle Muscat’s Marigold Foundation praised the athletes on their stellar performance

And Malta’s Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disability called the athletes ‘Our Champions at the World Games’
