Two Podium Finishes For Maltese Artistic Swimmers Competing In Hungary
Maltese artistic swimmers hit an International Open in Budapest, Hungary, and made two podium appearances in the process.
Zea Montfort, who competed in the under-15 Solo Free placed third in her respective set. Competing alongside fellow under-15 national Emily Ruggier, the two then placed second in the Duet Free.
Out of 102 athletes in under-15 Figures, Montfort made her way to 5th place with a total of 70.986 points. A personal best from her end. Ruggier also did remarkably well with a 19th-place finish in the same event.
Placing 5th in the Solo Free for senior athletes was the third in the contingent, Ana Culic.
The team was led by Malta National Coach, Michelle Hubner, who is currently eyeing further success at the upcoming international events on their calendar.
Artistic swimming is a sport where swimmers perform a synchronised choreographed routine to the sound of music. To date, it’s one of the most popular women’s sport in the world.
These fine Maltese athletes continue to tear it up abroad, making Malta proud in the process.
