WATCH: Allez Les Bleus! French Fans In Malta Jump Into The Sea, Disrupt Traffic After World Cup Triumph
There was jubilation in the streets of St Julian’s yesterday evening as France won its second World Cup at the end of a scintillating game against Croatia. Several hundreds of French fans had gathered in Spinola to watch their team on its big day, completely filling up the World Cup fan zone and by far outnumbering the few Croatian supporters present.
And the referee’s final whistle cued exuberant celebrations, with some French fans jumping into the sea and others taking to the street to remind drivers of their victory. They were joined by a couple of Maltese France supporters, who added to the atmosphere by honking their car horns and waving tricolour flag out of their windows.
