Watch: Ħamrun Spartans Snatch 1-0 Win In Match Against Latvia
Ħamrun Spartans players celebrated their victory against Latvia in UEFA’s Conference League match that was held yesterday evening.
“Another magical night in Ta’ Qali. Thank you very much for your support, we’re half way there and we’ll see you in Latvia. Forza Ħamrun!” said three of the team’s players in a video posted to Instagram.
The game stayed closely balanced, with the Spartans concentrating on gaining ground through their wingers Thioune and Joseph Mbong, while RFS Latvia concentrated their attacks on long balls on the tall Darko Lemajic.

By half-time, Ħamrun and Latvia kept it tied with a score of 0-0 which later changed with a goal made by Thioune during the second half of the game.The win launched the Spartans closer to a historic qualification in the UEFA Conference League and the team is now one step away from the group stage.
