Watch: Malta’s U-15s Win UEFA Youth Tournament After 3-2 Comeback Against Scotland

Malta’s U-15 football team has won a UEFA youth development tournament after a brave comeback win against Scotland.

Malta had to twice come from behind to nab the win, finishing the match 3-2.

This result means Malta has won the tournament with a maximum of six points in a three-team group that also comprised Gibraltar.

Scott Camilleri first levelled the scoring at 1-1 with a clean grounded strike down at the corner in the 55th minute but fell behind once again four minutes later.

However, a resilient showing by the boys led by coach Francesco Macri and his Technical Staff resulted in two goals for Malta late in the game to bounce back and overturn this result to emerge winners.

Liam Buhagiar took advantage of a defensive slip-up by Scotland in the 60th minute to level once again and make it 2-2, before the winning goal and a towering header by Dale Vella, outjumping his direct marker on 66minutes from a dead ball situation and a corner perfectly taken by Malta from the left-hand side.
