Watch: Runners Cross The Finish Line At Record-Breaking LifeStar Malta Marathon
With a record 5,100 athletes taking to the streets, the 40th edition of the LifeStar Malta Marathon has proven to be bigger and better than ever.
Kicking off in Mdina early this morning, runners from over 80 countries joined local competitors to tackle the full and half marathons, as well as a series of shorter charity and children’s races.

This year saw more than double the turnout of last year’s event, with 2,600 international competitors and 500 non-Maltese residents taking part.
Footage from Sliema shows runners from the half marathon and possibly the marathon crossing the finish line with a wave of emotions as they completed the gruelling challenge.
