Whitewash Victories Across The Board: This Maltese Female Handball Team Is Kicking All Sorts Of Ass

Local handball team the Kavallieri has done spectacularly well in recent competitions, racking up win after win in various leagues. However, it was the Kavallieri RS2 senior team who destroyed the competition in the Videoslots 1st Division Women League, taking a victory in every single game, the final one taking place last Sunday 12th May against La Salle Handball Club.

The entirely new team was made of seasoned competitors who had first taken part in the Under 17 league back in 2010

This hasn’t been the only group to shine this year. Kavallier’s Under-17 team didn’t only win the league, but they’ve won every year that the league has taken place since 2010. Oh, and did I mention that they also whitewashed the competition this year?

Apart from them and the senior team, the club also won the Time to Eat Under 15 Women League and the Videoslots Under 21 Women League

The club boasts a victory-filled history, and a very promising future

Apart from the above mentioned victories, the Under 15 team has won the league every year, except for the 2017/2018 season in which they placed second. This season is going very well as well, as they have already claimed the title while taking victory in every game so far (they still have one to go).

This season was also the debut for the Under 21 team, who not only won the title, but the incredible women managed to do so without losing a single match, a feat that by now only seems commonplace for the club.

In terms of the future, the club takes on students aged five and upwards and teaches them the ins and outs of the sport with the help of Anthony Xuereb (the coach since 2010) and the other coaches dedicated to training and teaching the next generation of handball stars, and we hope they’re a slam dunk. Oh wait, wrong sport!
