A dead body has been filmed floating to the side of a large cruise ship in the Mediterranean, leaving some passengers on board shocked into silence. The video, which has been circulating on social media, shows the cruise ship sailing by a body in a yellow life jacket.

Al Arabiya reported on the graphic video which garnered hundreds of comments in a short amount of time, and speculated that it might be related to migrants that had left from Morocco.

It is being speculated that the body belongs to a migrant.

Some passengers pull their smartphones out to record the tragic scene that is just one small part of a larger international crisis.

Around 150,000 migrants have already crossed the Mediterranean seeking refuge in Europe this year alone. Nearly 3,000 of those migrants have died during that journey.
