Fresh off his self-suspension from the PN’s parliamentary group, MP Jason Azzopardi will face Peppi Azzopardi in a Xarabank special which will be aired on Lovin Malta this Friday.

Azzopardi has been in the political spotlight ever since he took on the brief for Daphne Caruana Galizia’s family in the court cases related to the journalist’s assassination.

He has made a series of shocking allegations, including that Caruana Galizia was killed for issues related to the Montenegro wind farm scandal and that former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had called a snap election in 2017 because he was informed of the plot to assassinate the journalist.

Azzopardi has publicly clashed with Yorgen Fenech’s family after he alleged that the murder suspect’s wife had visited Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis’ home a few months after Fenech’s arrest.

He has also had beef with Adrian Delia, the former PN leader denouncing the MP as a “liar” who “fabricates falsehoods” with little regard for the people he harms.

Then last week, Azzopardi came under heavy fire following revelations that the Tumas Group, Fenech’s business empire, had paid for a 2017 five day stay at the Hilton Hotel in Tel-Aviv.

The MP’s estranged wife then recounted how her husband had told her he was travelling to Israel to attend a wedding by himself, only to then make the voyage with his partner.

Azzopardi then suspended himself from the PN parliamentary group pending an internal ethics investigation.

However, while he admitted he made a “mistake”, he also warned the story was leaked in an attempt to tarnish his name ahead of upcoming revelations.

“You will soon realise why all of this is happening. All I have to say is – as long as I am healthy, I promise that no one will silence me and I will keep fighting the criminals that have taken hold of the country,” he said.
