Lovin Live is back for a tenth episode, and tonight sees our very own Chucky sitting down with Jacqui Losco and Mark Weingard.

With a surname like that, Jacqui Losco is bound to get a lot of questions about her older sister first. The 23-year-old has however managed to make a name for herself in every industry she’s been a part of, from modelling to dance. But yes, she is local superstar Ira Losco’s sister, and yes; she’s been asked about it a couple of times.

The recognisable face of various local magazine front covers, Jacqui has also walked for many fashion houses, including local legends Charles & Ron. Just yesterday, she represented the popular designer duo for the seventh edition of Moda Malta, an evening dedicated to a number of high standard fashion outlets exhibiting their latest elegant collections.

Apart from being a popular Maltese model, Jacqui has also managed to take the world of dance by storm. Starting ballet when she was only seven years old, Losco landed her first role at the Manoel Threatre at only 14 years of age. By 2015, she was dancing alongside artists from the world-famous Royal Ballet in the Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Dance rendition of The Sleeping Beauty.

Called ‘the luckiest man in the world’, Mark Weingard is a British entrepreneur-turned-philantropist who’s been through it all. When he was only 10 years old, Weingard’s father died in a car crash days before his 36th birthday. Being driven to work hard, Mark ended up becoming a successful trader at a bank in the City of London before his 30th birthday. But life still had a lot in store for him.

In 2001, Weingard was in New York when the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened. Just one year later, he lost his fiancée in another terrorist attack, this time in Bali. Two years after that, he woke up on Boxing Day 2004 to the Indian Ocean tsunami racing towards his beach house in Thailand. All of this lead him to change the way he lived, culminating in the founding of the Annika Linden Foundation (after his late fiancée).

The foundation gradually grew, and the now renamed Inspirasia Foundation donates millions towards education, health and rehabilitation projects in Thailand, Indonesia and India. He also set up Iniala Resort, a luxury beachside retreat built on the site of his former tsunami-stricken beach house in Phuket. The residence donates a percentage of its revenues to charity.

The millionaire-philantropist adopted Malta as his home after travelling the world, bringing with him a long list of plans. Last year, he hosted a 100-day gastronomic experience Aziamendi 100 thanks to a three-Michelin-star chef. Along with local chef star Marvin Gauci, Mark is also the entrepreneur behind Dinner In The SkyHe has also laid plans for a high-end luxury hotel on Valletta’s Barbara Bastions.

Back in 2014, the Kardashian family had booked out the entire resort at Weingard’s Iniala Beach House during their vacation. The celebrity family also visited Inspirasia’s Home Life orphanage in nearby Thai Muang, buying presents to the children living there. The hotel staff described them as ‘the perfect guests’,
