Watch: Malta Says Final Goodbye To Zaylen In Heartbreaking Funeral Ceremony
White and blue balloons filled the skies above Għargħur this morning, as the community came together to bid farewell to six-year-old Zaylen, whose tragic passing has left the island in mourning.
Held at the parish church, the funeral was a deeply emotional tribute to a little boy who, in his short life, brought immense joy, love and light to those around him.

Zaylen drowned on Sunday, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a nation stunned by grief. His mother, Francesca Borg, shared a moving message on Facebook earlier this week, describing her son as “my sweet, joyful boy who brought light, laughter, and love into every moment of our lives”.
In honour of his memory, mourners were asked to wear white and blue, colours that symbolised Zaylen’s innocence and the brightness he brought to the world.
