Watch: Moviment Graffitti Interrupts Budget Speech With Anti-developers Protest
Activist organisation Moviment Graffitti interrupted the 2025 Budget speech with a protest against the developers’ lobby’s influence on Malta’s Parliament.
“Dancing to the developers drum. We’re fed up,” activists chanted as the ministers sat gawking at the demonstration.

Protestors brought out a banner during Finance Minister Clyde Caruana’s introduction to the highly anticipated budget speech that is expected to announce “historic” tax cuts.
The protest comes in the midst of controversy regarding cabinet’s decision to review St George’s Bay’s local plans which will reportedly accommodate the developer of the Villa Rosa project who has a pending planning application to drastically increase the height and footprint of this controversial development.
