Hear ye! Hear ye! The long-awaited moment is finally upon us. D’Amato Records’ original HMV sign is back on display as a historic memento.

The sign baring the little pooch listening curiously to a gramophone, promoting the ‘His Master’s Voice’ company, is one of, if not the oldest, signs of its making, being installed right after World War II.

Unfortunately, much to everyone’s disappointment, it was damaged earlier this year in July, but everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the barren shop facade was treated to a replacement last October.

However, the question on everyone’s lips was the fate of the old sign, considering its old age and status within the business and locality in general.

The answer was soon revealed as after much anticipation the old sign made a comeback, cementing its reputation forever within the safe confines of the shop itself on the wall for everyone to see.

The legacy of D’Amato’s His Master’s Voice sign lives on. With numerous of music-enthusiasts, tourists and residents visiting the shop daily, the historic sign will be remembered for generations.
