Watch: Police Advise Store Owners To Avoid Selling Eggs And Flour To Youths Amidst Halloween
With Halloween right around the corner, the Police are urging youths to celebrate without disturbing the public.
During a segment on TVAM, TVM approached Sergeant Ivan Mifsud of the Community Police in Pembroke for his thoughts on the celebrations. The sergeant only had one thing to say, which was an appeal for teens to refrain from deliberately annoying residents.
“Before it wasn’t widely celebrated, it just started with trick or treat, but recently, some teenagers have decided to annoy people by throwing eggs and such,” said the sergeant.
He carried on to explain that as a means to prevent such instances, as per the demand of the community itself, the Community Police distributing leaflets to local shops to advise them against selling flour or eggs to customers who don’t usually buy them, especially youths.
“You don’t have a reason to deliberately annoy people, never,” he continued, “We patrol the streets and even monitor activity through social media, to be prepared for these cases.”
According to TVMNews, multiple other localities are picking up on this initiative such as Birżebbuġa and Marsaxlokk, ever since it was first implemented last year.
