Malta’s exciting Risen Christ statue Easter Sunday tradition is still going strong, with Paola’s run going down earlier today.

A symbol of joy and celebration on the most important day of the Roman Catholic calendar, the tradition sees a group of men run through the streets carrying a massive statue of the Risen Christ before triumphantly lifting it into the air, symbolising Jesus’ resurrection.
