Watch: ‘Shame on you’ – Animal Rights Activists Protest Outside Court As Cat Killing Suspect Arraigned

A group of animal rights activists gathered outside Malta’s law courts this morning to protest as a 31-year-old Japanese man accused of killing several cats appeared before Magistrate Nadine Sant Lia.
Chanting “shame on you” and calling him “sick,” protesters expressed outrage over the disturbing string of cat killings that shocked the nation in recent weeks.

The accused was arrested early Friday morning in Triq Manuel Dimech, Tas-Sliema, following days of police surveillance. Officers reportedly found him carrying latex gloves and cat food—items believed to be linked to the cat killings.
A subsequent search of his residence also led to the seizure of clothing allegedly matching items seen on CCTV footage near the scenes where the dead cats were discovered.
He remains in police custody as court proceedings continue.
