WATCH: Viral Video Shows Two Maltese Children Entering Trance And Seeing Visions Of The Madonna
A viral video of what seems to be two Maltese children entranced by a vision of the Madonna has been doing the rounds on Facebook, amassing over 20,000 views in just two days.
The video shows a young boy and girl staring upwards at an apparition as a crowd gathers around them. They are chanting the Hail Mary as people stare upwards and at them. One man can be heard saying “I’m not seeing anything” in Maltese, before the video ends.
Comments under the video veer between people tentatively wondering where the video was shot, to utter – and enraged – disbelief.
It turns out the video is actually a marketing stunt for a new TV series, Miraklu
The video was shot on a smartphone and posted by a believable but fake Facebook profile. The Take2 team – the producers behind the show and stunt – even included common Maltese typos in the fake profile’s statuses to make it all feel super believable.
The trailer for Miraklu is set to come out this evening at 6pm, and viral or not, that video will not be a fake apparition.
