Nine Days Missing: Police Question Close Contacts Of Dar Merħba Resident Martin Ambinette

Martin Ambinette, a 65-year-old resident of Dar Merħba, a home for people with disabilities, has been missing for nine days now.
Lovin Malta is informed that police have in recent days questioned people who are close to Martin in the hopes of establishing his whereabouts.
The people questioned by the police include Ronald Galea, the founder of Fondazzjoni Wens, which manages Dar Merħba and two other homes. Galea recently left his role as CEO of the foundation following a forced changeover overseen by the Commission of Voluntary Organisations. The homes are now in the hands of HILA, a subsidiary of Care Malta.

Lovin Malta has been told that Ambinette, who has lived with the foundation for around 13 years, had expressed displeasure at the takeover.
Ambinette left Dar Merħba on Sunday as he often does but didn’t return in the evening. He didn’t take his phone with him.
Police reported him missing a day later and later released the most recent CCTV footage of him, taken in Fgura. In the image, Ambinette can be seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket with ‘San Ġiljan ASC’ written on the back.
Police have deployed drones to search for the missing man and have also increased regular patrols.
Anyone with any information about Martin’s whereabouts can pass it on to the Police, even confidentially, on Police HQ numbers 21 224001/119 or at the nearest police station.
