Lara Al Kass, a nine-year-old Palestinian girl whose eye was injured with fragments of a missile in Gaza, is set to come to Malta to receive medical treatment.

Lara’s case was identified by the Palestinian Embassy to Malta and has been approved by the Maltese government, who has agreed to fund her treatment.

The embassy warned that she is at critical risk of losing her eyesight and requires urgent medical treatment.

She is currently in Egypt and is set to come to Malta once her papers are complete.

Malta has already funded the medical treatment of Selah, a three-year-old Palestinian girl who survived Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, and Prime Minister Robert Abela has pledged to accept more children to receive medical treatment.

“How can we remain silent in the face of this massacre that is claiming so many innocent lives in Gaza?” Abela asked.

Other medical cases are believed to be on their way pending their evacuation to Egypt.

The Palestinian embassy has embarked on a donation-raising campaign to help Gaza children receive medical treatment in Malta.

While the government typically pays for their visa and medical care costs, the embassy has asked for donations to cover their flights, accommodation and daily expenses.

The embassy is accepting donations via BOV Mobile Pay through +356 99922000 or Revolut via +356 99619998.
