‘No Ego Trip Should Embarrass An Entire Government’: Jason Micallef Criticises Film Commissioner’s Costly Promo
Jason Micallef has weighed in on the controversial promotional film produced by the Film Commission. This film, which featured Film Commissioner Johann Grech alongside David Walliams, reportedly cost around €500,000, possibly more.
Micallef expressed his disapproval on Facebook, stating, “No ego trip should embarrass an entire Government,” alongside an article detailing Johann Grech’s role and the film’s steep costs.

Micallef also challenged the lack of accountability for the expenditure of public funds.
“The Films Commissioner, not the Government, and the Government is not the Films Commissioner. To think that you can do what you want all the time, with the people’s money, with no accountability, is not acceptable,” Micallef added.
He went on to praise Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo for achieving the “best results of all time” for Malta.
“Our Country, the People, the Labour Government, and its people, deserve better,” Micallef ended his statement.
