Good news for anyone that usually melts during the approaching sweaty season – a local weather expert has predicted less extreme hot weather will be hitting Malta this summer.

According to weather expert Samuel Cutajar on TVAM, temperatures are predicted to be more constant this year, ranging between 30 to 35 Celsius.

This is due partially due to a phenomenon that happens every three years called El Niño.

El Niño, is a climate event which happens every three years in the Pacific that influences weather around the world. It is responsible for raising global temperatures and causing extreme weather events like hurricanes.

And while Malta might experience constant temperatures in summer, there is a major downside, with 2024 looking to be the planet’s hottest year on record.
