An armed suspect managed to flee with a considerable amount of money after robbing a shop in Birkirkara this afternoon.

Police received reports of a robbery at around 12.30 pm on Triq Santa Liena, Birkirkara.

The suspect armed reportedly threatened a 31-year-old Birkirara resident with a knife, demanding all the money held in the store’s cash register.

No one was injured but the suspect managed to flee the scene before authorities arrived.

Police have opened an investigation and are looking for the robber. .
