Noel Azzopardi Pleads Not Guilty To Rabat New Year’s Day Murder Of Eric Borg
Noel Azzopardi, the 39-year-old man who turned himself in to police after the shooting of 27-year-old Eric Borg in Rabat on New Year’s Day, has pleaded not guilty to the murder.
Arraigned before Magistrate Monica Vella moments ago, Azzopardi – who is unemployed – is being represented by lawyers Arthur Azzopardi, Jacob Magri and Alex Miruzzi. As reported by the Times Of Malta, the lawyers have told the court they will not be contesting the validity of Azzopardi’s arrest at this stage.

After an argument erupted on Triq Fidloqqom, Eric Borg was shot twice at 3.30pm. Azzopardi was arrested at around 6pm.
The case against Azzopardi is being led by prosecuting inspector Wayne Camilleri, inspector Godwin Scerri and Attorney General lawyer Kaylie Bonett.
