Now More Than Ever, PN Needs Franco Debono And Alex Borg, Robert Musumeci Says
Robert Musumeci has reacted to the possibility of Joseph Muscat’s political comeback by urging the Nationalist Party to embrace the likes of Franco Debono and Alex Borg.
“The PN needs the moderate voices and clear minds of Franco Debono and Alex Borg more than ever,” Musumeci said.
A former PN Siġġiewi mayor, Musumeci had switched allegiances to the Labour Party and became one of Muscat’s most vocal supporters in the media.
Muscat and Debono, who happened to be classmates at St Aloysius, have both said they are considering running for the upcoming European Parliament election.
Prime Minister Robert Abela has said he wouldn’t stand in Muscat’s way if he wants to contest while Opposition Leader Bernard Grech has praised Debono as a “very valid” person.
Borg, a Nationalist MP, has endorsed a political comeback for Debono.
