Maltese boxer Steve Martin is taking on a killer Boxing day challenge, all to raise funds for young Kate Ferriggi.
Kate suffers from a very rare disease named Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome, leading to having to spend around €2,500 a month for treatment. Touched by her story, Steve wanted to do something to help her.
“I came up with Kate’s 1€ Burpee challenge ’cause it means a lot to me if I can help this beautiful girl! For me, it’s a bigger accomplishment than winning a world title!” Steve told Lovin Malta.
“Our aim about the challenge is to try and get a person who is willing to give Kate 1€ for every Burpee I make in a three-hour window, which will be live on Facebook on Monday 26th from 9am till 12pm,” he explained.
During this three-hour window, Steve will be live trying to do as many burpees as his body allows him to.
In return for this crazy challenge, all Steve wants is for people to raise funds that will help young Kate and her family.
All money raised during the challenge will be going directly to Kate, with Steve urging companies to help him raise funds to cover her monthly therapy.
For anyone wanting to send something to Kate, this is her family’s Revolut number 79051866 – write “boxing day for Kate” when sending the donation.
