A van crashed into a wall at the mouth of Regional Road tunnels in St. Julian’s this afternoon, leaving at least one person injured and standstill traffic in the area.

Police reported that the accident, which involved a van and possibly another vehicle, happened around 4pm today in the northern direction of the tunnels.

At least one person was reported injured, while Civil Protection Department is undergoing an operation to extract another passenger from the damage.

The traffic lanes heading towards St. Julian’s tunnels are currently closed.

At least one person has been taken to hospital for treatment so far.

Their condition is not yet known.
